Discipleship Groups

 Discipleship Groups are made up of 2 to 8 people, of the same gender (typically), who meet together to invest in each other’s spiritual growth. In this group you will come together with those you trust to connect to God through His Word, counsel each other in the gospel, equip each other for ministry, and pray together.

Our mission is that we would Together, write stories of new life in Christ.  Another way to say this is to make disciples who make disciples. Below are the characteristics of someone who is a disciple who is making disciples.  A discipleship group is designed to get you there.  

1. Loving God (Gospel): Making space in life to know God and be known by Him

·      Daily Prayer

·      Daily allowing scripture to speak into the mind, heart, and life

·      Daily Remembering the good news of the gospel

 

2. Loving Others (Community): Engaged in Christian Community

·      Committed to a discipleship group and regularly attends corporate worship 

·      Listens well, is dependable and reliable, and honors friendships

·      The person is trustworthy and can gently convict people of sin and point them to the gospel

·      This person delights in serving others and investing in people

 

3. Making Disciples (Mission): Helping others to love God and love others

·      Has genuine friendships with those outside the church.  

·      Thinks seriously about spiritual condition of all people around them (skeptics and Christians) 

·      Has the desire and a growing ability to speak the gospel into the lives of skeptics and Christians

·      Thinks seriously about God’s calling in their own vocation (work, family, and neighborhood)
